Action is the new Album by Uppermost is one rawest albums I've heard in a while. Steps away from his usual crisper sound to something I expected from the new Justice album before I heard it. I think it's fair to say the likes of Justice and SebastiAn had a huge influence on this album...

RE:GENERATION

A few days ago the trailer to RE:GENERATION was released. 5 DJ's collaborating with various iconic artists combining their respective genres. The collaborations include some massive artists including Skrillex with The Doors; DJ Premier with Nas and the Berklee School of Music Orchestra; Pretty Lights with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley; Crystal Method with Martha Reeves; and Mark Ronson with Erykah Badu, Dap Kings and Trombone Shorty. Probably driven by publicity for the grammy's but an looks like an interesting experiment all the same. Look forward to hearing the tracks. Check out the trailer

Weekend In America

What we've all been waiting for... Wolfgang Gartner's Debut album dropped on the September 20th. Overall not too impressed with the album, shows signs of true Wolfgang style but it reminds me too much of MSTRKRFT's butchery in Fist of God, where a famous singer's thrown on top of already mediocre track for the sack of their name. In this case these vocalists are Will i am, Eve, Cam'ron, Omarion and Jim Jones. Could see this coming with his alignment with mtv

Year of the Banger

2011 has been a massive year for Ed Rec after a somewhat quiet 2010. Releases already from Cassius, SebastiAn, Breakbot, Carte Blanche and the 'Let The Children Techno' Compilation mixed by Busy and Mehdi.

For the rest of the year there is the obvious release of the new Justice album, a new Oizo album, new Mickey Moonlight, a new DSL album and a release from Krazy Baldhead who hasn't been on the scene for quite a few years now

Flume is the alias of a 19 year old Australian kid Harley Streten. Harley's also part of the duo 'What So? Not' which produce more dance orientated fidget music. Flume is a much better direction I think.

New Hud Mo

Just been listening to the new Hudson Mohawke EP 'Satin Panthers'. Typical deconstructive mayhem from the Scot using simple glitchy sounds so effectively. Not always the easiest to listen to and intentionally so but there is no doubting Hud Mo pushes electronic boundaries unlike anyone else in the game.
